Sometimes the frugal side of me really shows. I wouldn't say I'm cheap but I will always seem to question a marked price, the initial offer. In the age of froogle, pricegrabber and the likes, why would you buy something without a little research. The information superhighway has brought the market for all goods at your finger tips. No longer can the lack of information be an excuse to have overpaid for something. Splurge, but splurge wisely I say.

My Indian coworker just tried to describe government subsidized housing in Jersey City to me. She started with "There is this concept of project accommodations..."
I couldn't stop laughing after that.
Do you think when people in other countries watch 24, they're rooting for the bad guys?

Working in the armpit of America again and about to lose my mind.
You know what sucks? jersey
The fact that my AVIS points are not posting to my Delta SkyMiles account is driving me nuts. I am literally refreshing/logging in and out of my SkyMiles account twice an hour. Why the hell does it take 4 to 6 weeks to post? It's not like it's a magazine subscription. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.
Side boob, bottom boob, bare boob, fake boob, upside down boob. I am in the land of titties and Lamborghinis. And if you know me at all, those 2 things are at the very top of my list. Big Willy was spot on with his 1998 hit "Miami." Last night we started at a bar called Wet Willies. It's like 7 eleven but for raging alcoholics. 20 flavors of slurpies with a majority containing 153 proof grain alcohol. How you like them apples. We went for dinner at Nikki Beach. I give that place 2 thumbs down. Nice establishment, horrible service. Then ended at Red Room where we partied till they closed.
Lounging at the beach at The Shore Club right now. Infinity pools, hot tubs, some sick obsession with outdoor beds, and DJs spinning club music 24/7. Picture a late 90s early 2000s music video.

Here's my latest pair of shades. I love them. If this pair gets lost, stolen, pooped on, or anything else but staying on my pretty little head, I will murder. I will kill.
Saw this anonymous comment on /. regarding a new IT security book that is out,
The Pragmatic CSO: 12 Steps to become a Pragmatic CSO.
"It's not about technology -- it's about business.No.
The entire IT world currently exists
for its own sake. The business world has discovered they can
use it, to some extent, but let's not take that too far in ascribing a
raison d'etre to all things tech.
We have computers because geeks like toys. In order to afford more toys, we whore ourselves out to the business world... But the relationship ends there. If we can help our employers make more shiny colorful reports measuring how much money we waste on blue vs green widget paint, great, good for them (and the landfills). If not... I can't speak for everyone on Slashdot, but at the end of the day, I go home and do my best
not to think about work.
Yet, I still go home, fire up my PC, and continue improving the very skills that make me valuable to my employer (I'll skip the obvious gaming and p0rn jokes here). I, as I believe of most geeks, do it for its own sake, because I love technology and toys -
Not because I have some BS "compelling business case" to dedicate much of my life to technology for the gain of CEOs who wouldn't give me the time of day to spit on me if they came across me dying in the desert."
I will be participating in the 2008 MS Bike Tour. Please donate to help us reach our team goal of $6000. Montel Williams has MS and is a huge supporter of medical marijuana use to treat MS. Just for that reason you should donate!

This is a great animated tutorial on how pho noodles are made. If you don't know pho, then you are missing out big time. It's on my list of top 10 foods.

It's been a week since the iPhone 3g was released to the public. Rumors of shortages have been spreading fast and furious through the tech blogosphere. The early adopters are still lined up around the block at the 5th avenue. They say it's about a 5 hour wait. Fuck that. Nothing is worth standing in 90 degree heat and humidity for a phone. I need to figure out a way to snatch on up without all the hassle. We shall see.
The weekend is upon us yet again. What adventures shall unfold? What shenanigans will we get in to? Check out my picasa page on Monday to find out.

I am currently horrendously addicted to Google's Picasa or rather Picasa2, the 2nd iteration, of the greatest photo organizational tool I've ever used. I was using Flickr for a while until I hit the 200 picture limit. Yes 200, your eyes aren't fooling you. In this day and age, Ill take 200 pictures while take a shit on the toilet. Yahoo, if you want to know why your stock is at $20.66 (7/1/08) and Google's is at $526.42, look no further. It's your ridiculous 200 photo limit in flickr. Picasa2 has a 1gb limit and a great desktop application to go along with it. I reccomend it to anyone who is looking for an arena to show off some great drunk ass pics from the past weekend.

Currently saving up for one.
Last Sunday I flew to Orlando, more specifically the Caribe Royale Resort for training, of the work variety. I bought some Coppertone sunscreen from CVS, to prepare for a week of poolside lounging. It set me back $11 but it was the aerosol spray type that I liked so much. Of course, I was only able to make it to the pool on the first and last day I was there and the sunscreen remained unopened. And because of my Asian descent and thus my cheap nature, I did not want to leave the $11 bottle of sunscreen behind. So I figured I would see if the brilliant men and women of the TSA would detect it in my carry on luggage. Of course they found it and I was relieved of my Coppertone at security. The point is, the skies were much safer without that bottle of Coppertone onboard.
This is my first post to what I hope to be an active blog maintained by yours truly. I use the term
active rather loosely as my last blog laid stagnant for close to a year.
Current situation: It's around midnight right now and I have not gotten more than 4 hrs of sleep each night this past week. I am in sunny Orlando for work training. Tomorrow will be my last day here. I did get a chance to go to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, but somehow the only thing I saw was the bottom of a beer glass. More to come on that.
I would like to say though, it was a breeze to setup Blogger. Kudos to Google, you rarely disappoint.
